Chelsio at Storage Developer Conference 2022

Chelsio announced a set of storage demonstrations and performance benchmark results for NVMe/TCP Offload at Storage Developer Conference 2022.

•   A highlight was the demonstration of NVMe/TCP Offload using the NVMe protocol data unit (PDU) interface for highly efficient, low-latency access to NVMe SSD storage using the T7 DPU Emulation Platform.
•   Chelsio participated in a Birds of a Feather (BoF) session entitled "Best Practices for NVMe/TCP Deployment". The BoF included a review of NVMe/TCP performance results using Chelsio T6 Unified Wire TCP/IP Offload Engine (TOE) which enabled unprecedented storage performance and scale.

Chelsio and FADU Announce Expansive Flash-optimized Storage Connectivity at SuperComputing 2022

Chelsio and FADU announced a set of storage demonstrations and performance benchmark results which showcase how hyperscale customers can optimize application performance and return-on investment (ROI) using NVMe/TCP Offload, NVMe-oF and iSCSI technologies at the Supercomputing 2022 conference.

•   This video demonstrates industry-leading storage performance results of FADU DELTA SSDs accessed remotely using Chelsio T6 100GbE adapters.
•   This Technical Report details how combination of FADU SSDs with Chelsio's industry-leading Unified Wire adapter solution delivers compelling performance, power savings, and total cost of ownership (TCO) advantages.

Chelsio Demonstrates T7 DPU Capabilities

Chelsio's latest 7th generation T7 Data Processing Unit (DPU) is a generation ahead of other DPUs, offering a range of industry-leading capabilities:

•   Support for ultra low-latency compute at scale and optimal storage performance to redefine traditional AI/ML/HPC workflows.
•   Extreme storage performance required for storage disaggregation, for example, using NVMe JBOFs.
•   Extremely low power DPU Board (31W @ 100G typical, 45W @ 400G).

Recent Publications

•   Chelsio published a paper on Inline IPsec acceleration capabilities of T7 for L2 NIC and Offload traffic. Servers with system load, comprising of cryptographic operations, see great performance improvement by offloading crypto operations on to the Chelsio T7 adapters. With concurrent support for offloading multiple protocols and crypto operations, Chelsio has taken the Unified Wire solution to the next level.
•   Chelsio and StorageIO presented a Birds of a Feather (BoF) Session exploring the challenges, issues, and benefits of addressing NVMe over TCP deployments without compromise.
•   Chelsio published the performance results of NVMe/TCP using Chelsio T6 Offload solution for both Kernel and User modes. With more than 2.9 million IOPs at the 4K I/O size, only an 8.69 μs delta latency between remote and local storage access, up to 50% CPU savings, exceptional jitter handling capabilities, the Chelsio solution proves to be the best-in-class at providing the next generation, scalable storage network over standard and cost-effective Ethernet infrastructure with an efficient processing path.
•   Chelsio published a paper on how the iWARP enabled T6 25G Unified Wire and Converged Network Adapters (CNAs) enable a low-cost, plug-and-play, high-performance Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) solution using standard Ethernet infrastructure.
•   Demartek published a benchmark of iSCSI offload vs. no offload for a class of real world applications. The results clearly demonstrated the necessity of offload for 100Gb iSCSI.
