Readme on boot ISO v1.0.2 - 24/12/2009

Introduction
------------

This release of the Chelsio boot software is for Chelsio's T3 based S and N
series adapters.  Access to the software is through the downloadable file
"ChelsioBootSoftware-1.0.2.iso", which is an image that is to be burned to a CD.
The CD is bootable and allows for the installation of the boot software on the
system and Chelsio card.

The software contains:

1. PXE Option ROM images
2. iSCSI boot Option ROM images
3. Chelsio iSCSI initiator /w boot capability
4. Firmware

Once the CD is booted with the Chelsio card in the system, accept the license
agreement and then follow the menus to install the above items.

See the end of this readme on an alternative way to flash the Option ROM images.

The following are notes on each software component:

PXE Option ROM (v1.1_bld1):

iSCSI boot (v2.0 build 178):

- Supports:
   - Microsoft initiator (Windows Server 2003 and 2008)
   - Open-iSCSI (RHEL5 U2, U3, U4)
   - Chelsio Linux initiator (RHEL & SLES - see below)
- Changes since v2.0:
   - Now supports all T3 cards (S & N series) except the S304
   - Smaller footprint for greater compatibility

Chelsio iSCSI initiator w/boot capability:
------------------------------------------
- This release supports the following Linux distributions:
   - RHEL 5 U3
   - RHEL 5 U2
   - RHEL 4 U8
   - SLES 11
   - SLES 10 SP2

- This release supports the following Windows Platforms:
  -Windows 2008R2
  -Windows 2008
  -Windows 7
  -Windows 2003

- Read the iSCSI boot manual on the CD for installation instructions before
  installing (see below).

Firmware:
---------
- Contains the proper firmware version required for Open-iSCSI and the Chelsio
  iSCSI initiator.  Read the iSCSI boot manual before installing.

Alternative Way to Flash Option ROM Images
------------------------------------------

The Option ROM images for PXE and for iSCSI boot can be flashed using a DOS
based utility called cfu.exe.  To use it, place the utility and the Option ROM
files on a bootable DOS diskette.  Then reboot the system with the Chelsio card
via the bootable DOS diskette and run cfu.exe.  This will give a help menu that
is a guide in flashing the image.

The Option ROM images and the cfu.exe utility can be found in the following
directories of the CD:

- PXE directory:
  \PXE_rom_v1.1_bld1\

- iSCSI boot directory:
  \iSCSI_rom_v2.0_build178\
